Chateau Lagrange, Grand Cru
Grapes & Profile:
A classic Left Bank Bordeaux blend: 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine is aged for 18 to 20 months in French oak barrels, with 60% new oak, contributing to its structure and aging potential.
Nose:
The bouquet is rich and complex, offering aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum, complemented by notes of cedar, graphite, and a hint of violet. These elements are characteristic of the Saint-Julien terroir.
Tasting Notes:
Dark color with purple tint on the rim, black cherry, blackcurrant and fresh prune. Powerful and unctuous with a lot of freshness. This vintage seems to be very approachable and well balanced. Tannins are dense and very silky. This amazing wine looks like a blend between the 2009 and the 2016. 2018 is the ultimate generous wine.
Pairings:This wine pairs well with grilled meats, roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, and aged cheeses. Its structure also complements dishes with rich sauces and earthy flavors.
