Chateau La Vieille Cure
A sustainably farmed Right Bank blend (~74% Merlot, ~22% Cabernet Franc, ~4% Cabernet Sauvignon), grown on limestone-rich soils from vines over 40 years old; aged ~18 months in French oak (≈30% new)
Nose:
Bright and fresh with intense aromas of black and red berries—plum, blackberry, currant—plus leather, tobacco, cedar, spice, dark chocolate, and crushed stone minerals
Palate:
Medium to full-bodied, plush and refined with juicy dark fruit compacted by ripe, grainy tannins. Notes of damson plum, blackberry coulis, tobacco, toast, and subtle earthy-mineral accents. Clean, long, and structured finish packed with freshness
Food Pairing:
Excellent with roasted or grilled red meats (beef, lamb, game like venison or duck), hearty stews, hearty mushroom dishes, aged hard cheeses, and pork
